keshava : He who has beautiful hair
This is one of the favourite names of Lord Krishna. The Upanishads say that the universe has grown out of the Lord as hair grows out of the body. The simile is both simple and profound. The universe is not separate from the Lord, but it is not identical with the Lord either.
Your hair cannot claim that it is you, but at the same time you cannot say its entirely not you, your hair is part of you. The Upanishads say, you are part of the Lord. All of us grow from him and draw our lives from his pure being.

poem of the day - Anonymous
Talking’s no use
all that’s written sounds trivial
do we alone know how it hurts
to be separate?

the journey within - energy waves
Yesterday, as I focused my mind on the centre of the incoming and outgoing breaths I experienced intense energy waves in the area between the eye brows, I felt it make circular movements around my forehead. This lasted for 15 minutes.
This time I was able to maintain awareness of the breath even with the sensations. Slowly the energy waves subsided.

the journey within
I sat for meditation last night as I always do. Midnight is one of the best times for me as I'm rarely disturbed. I started by concentrating on the centre of my incoming and outgoing breaths. 15 minutes into it my mind was completely stilled. I could feel that my breath had completely stopped. A few minutes into this concentrated thoughtless state, I felt a mild current flowing from the right side of the forehead, it got stronger as it circulated down towards the centre of my right cheek, causing great sensations. The current stayed on the right side for at least 10 minutes.
My meditation ended as I was concentrating on the sensation rather than the stillness which I had experienced just before. I tried to start from the beginning but my mind was restless. I finished for the day and fell asleep.
